Hommage á Bechers

I met the artwork of Bechers a couple of years ago and they had great influence on the themes I pursued in the latest years. I wanted to pay a compliment to their life work as Hilla Becher died in 2015. These artworks are about the forced industrialization of Hungary after the Second World War. Forges, water towers, power plants had became the symbols of the 50s’ as the government forced the industrial principles of the Soviet Union to Hungary. As the base of these artworks, I use photos from the internet, that show the edifces under construction. The precisely erased lines and the smooth sight of the pastels reminds us of the photographs, and the opposition of the thin drafting flm and the concrete industrial edifcies indicates the transience of the human constructions (both physical and theoretical).
