Night stage
Night stage
Artificial light is a key to our independence. Our cities are filled with light, where in the daytime nature remains a place for recreation, while at night becomes an unpredictable wilderness. As Bruno Latour says, nature has long provided the setting for humanity’s act, but in recent years ‘she’ has been claiming to play on the stage as well. In the forest details stiffen in artificial lighting as a snapshot full of plants deprived of their colours. A trace of human appears on the works, with strong lights and shadows sometimes lifting the veil off the flatness of natural forms, giving the impression of illusory forest posters. A play within a play, where colours are caused only by the radiation of white light from the reflector broken down into colours.
